🌱 Sprouts: A Child’s Garden Adventure 🌱
A special gardening micro course just for you & the children in your life!
For many children, summer is just around the corner! If you are looking for fun and engaging activities for the kids in your life, Sprouts Garden Adventure is just for you!
Think back to when you were a child, maybe 5 or 6 years old. You were full of energy and curiosity about the world around you! Your growing mind needed connection.
Now, think of a positive moment you shared with an adult that shaped your interests and impacted your life to this very day.
Maybe the adult was a grandparent, parent, caretaker, friend, or member of your community. Maybe you were gardening, reading, playing a game, or exploring nature.
How well can you remember that moment?
That moment feels ages ago, but somehow also right now… Because the seeds that were planted that day sprouted and grew into…YOU!
Childhood experiences have immense power to shape our lives.
That’s why we’re so excited to introduce you to Sprouts: A Child’s Garden Adventure.
In the course, course instructor Meg Groves introduces kids, approximately ages 4-7, to the beautiful (and sometimes bizarre) world of plants! Kids will learn:
🌞 The essentials that plants need to grow and thrive
💕 What all living things have in common
🍓 The stages of plants’ life cycles, from seed to flowering and fruiting
🌱 The different ways plants grow and reproduce
🌿 Major parts of plants and how they work together
Just like seeds, children know how to grow. If you give them an idea and encouragement, they will run with it! And before you know it, they’re asking questions and making their own discoveries that may even amaze you.

Weekly Garden Tip: Microgreen Material Safety
Honing your watering skills can take time. Understanding how much to water which plants and how often can feel confusing when you’re just starting out. Rule of thumb for successful watering #1: Water more often but less thoroughly when you’re just starting your seeds. Water less often but more thoroughly as plants mature. The goal is to water where the root zones of the plants are.

eGuide: 12 Superfoods Anyone Can Grow
How many times have you heard the term “superfood”? What exactly makes a food “super”? Does it come with a cape when you pluck it from your garden?
Here’s the scoop according to Harvard’s School of Public Health … “There’s no scientifically based or regulated definition for superfood, but generally, a food is promoted to superfood status when it offers high levels of desirable nutrients, is linked to the prevention of a disease, or is believed to offer several simultaneous health benefits beyond its nutritional value.”
In other words, superfoods are foods on the cutting edge of the food-body-health connection. They’re the missing link that may be proven to help you “eat your way to better health” one day.
Now, some of you may think you need to travel to far away places like the Amazon jungle or the mountains of Nepal to get your own fresh superfoods.
But, we have a surprise for you today that we are very excited to share… You can grow a LOT of superfoods right in your own backyard!
In fact, we have a FREE download right here that will show you how to grow 12 of them, no matter where you live!
Product Feature: Turmeric Cuttings
Speaking of superfoods, have you considered growing your own turmeric?
Several studies have shown time and time again that turmeric has cancer-fighting properties…
Talk about a truly super food! 👏
Turmeric is versatile- indoor gardens, outdoor gardens, even small-space gardens can all yield a bountiful harvest of turmeric!
While it may take some time to grow turmeric, the results are truly worth the wait.
Did you download the Superfood Gardening Guide above? It contains a wealth of information to help you be successful in your superfood growing endeavors!
Dear Arti:
Question: What are the hardy plants to plant now in Central FL? – Dee
Answer: Hi Dee, here’s how you can figure out which plants will grow in what months. Below is the data for Central Florida. Now, make a list of crops you’d like to grow. Look up what the temperature growing range is for each of the crops you want to grow and how long they take to mature. Where would that crop fit on the calendar?
January: [High 71°F, Low 52°F]
February: [High 74°F, Low 54°F]
March: [High 78°F, Low 58°F]
April: [High 83°F, Low 63°F]
May: [High 88°F, Low 69°F]
June: [High 91°F, Low 73°F]
July: [High 92°F, Low 75°F]
August: [High 92°F, Low 75°F]
September: [High 90°F, Low 74°F]
October: [High 84°F, Low 68°F]
November: [High 78°F, Low 60°F]
December: [High 73°F, Low 55°F]
For a general guideline, most cool weather crops won’t be as sweet, even growing in the coolest months. Opt for heat tolerant varieties and warm season crops. And unless you have shade cloth, you might choose not to grow during the hottest months. If you do want to grow in the hottest months, warm season crops only. Okra and tetragonia are two good choices for crops that can tolerate temperatures above 86°F. For further learning, you can take the Beginning Crop Planning Micro Course.
I hope that helps Dee!
