Plant Based Beginner’s Bootcamp 🌿
October 28 – November 1, 2024
Feeling drained and struggling with brain fog? It might not be just your genetics at fault— in fact, it could be what you’re eating. The Standard American Diet (aptly abbreviated as “SAD”) is rich in processed foods and low in whole plants, which is contributing to rising health issues. Even the WHO (–who? The World Health Organization!) has placed processed meat alongside smoking on its list of health hazards. That’s sad news, indeed…
So, how to be happy? Take charge of your health with the “Plant-Based Beginner’s Bootcamp,” a 5-day online challenge led by expert health coach Kim Murphy. This complimentary program will reveal the truth about your food choices and how they impact your well-being. You’ll learn to eat your way to better health with easy, delicious recipes that support your journey.
Join us to gain the knowledge and tools to improve your energy and vitality, so you can keep up with your kids or grandkids and wake up feeling sharp each day.
[Video] Maximize Growing Space
Check out this (com)post to prepare your planting bed for an abundant vegetable harvest. In this video, you’ll add 3 amendments to your tool belt– or gardening frock! 😉
Weekly Garden Tip:
Looking at temperature recording data is great. But that’s not the only key to success in understanding your climate and when to plant. To gain a deeper insight into your temperatures, consider not just the numbers but also the overall weather patterns. 🌬
Additionally, pay attention to how the weather feels for you! Over time, you’ll develop this instinct and feel that it’s time to plant those tomatoes– even if it’s two weeks early! You’ll also know when to wait to plant those cool weather crops for a bit. Tuning into temperature and the weather can give you almost a sixth sense about when to plant. 🌡

Grow Food Year Round
Getting to know your local growing climate is one of the first steps to growing a thriving vegetable garden. But there’s a big difference between learning about your climate and feeling limited by your climate.
Your growing climate matters. It determines what veggie varieties you’re going to grow and when you plant and harvest them. You’ve probably heard that vegetables and herbs thrive in an “ideal” temperature range of 50-85 F (10-30 C). But how many places on Earth consistently stay in that ideal range? Not many!
You don’t have to live in ideal conditions to grow lots of food all year long.

Dear Arti:
Question: How to grow microgreens in an apartment? – Candi
Answer: Hi Candi,
Great question! The good news is that growing indoors inside your home (as opposed to an external grow room) makes you less likely to get pests.
In an apartment, you can grow in a closet, part of a room– anywhere you can fit a shelf! I recommend a space of 48″ long and 24″ deep if possible. If not, you can still grow in 24″ x 24″ spaces.
There’s a lot to cover regarding setup and environment, but a few tips include: the ideal temperature range is 65-75℉ (18-24℃) and no higher than 30% humidity is ideal. Be sure to have air circulation in your growing environment as well, but avoid a fan directly blowing on the plants.
